What is facial contouring with fillers?
Facial contouring is able to enhance lips, as well as remove wrinkles on the face, the neck, and in the décolleté area with fillers. Fillers are the substances used to fill wrinkles or creases from the inside. Additionally, such medicinal products as Radiesse or Endoret serve as collagen stimulants — firming and rejuvenating the skin. Around them, a new collagen framework starts growing. Therefore, the effect on the nasolabial fold remains visible even after resorption of the filler. The result of such a cosmetic procedure lasts up to 1–2 years. Possible correction zones are nasolabial folds, neck, cheekbones. By injecting the filler we restore the volume lost on the face with age, eliminating the tired look on the face.
Types of fillers, their differences
To correct wrinkles, beauticians use:
● Hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Hypoallergenic medicinal products. Hyaluronic acid is a substance synthesized by the body itself. It is 100% bioavailable and does not cause complications at the injection site. The acid retains water in tissues, prevents appearance of wrinkles, and smooths out existing defects.
● Endoret biofillers. A special gel is saturated with client’s purified plasma enriched with platelet growth factors, vitamins, and minerals. Such filler does not contain any synthetic components. It is safe for the clients, does not cause any complications, and guarantees a rejuvenating effect in the nasolabial area.
● Radiesse calcium-hydroxyapatite-based filler. Medicinal product based on (CaHA). When injected into the wrinkle zone, the gel fills it from the inside. Calcium particles act as collagen stimulators. A new collagen frame is created around them, which protects the skin from sagging and development of new wrinkles. The effect lasts up to 18 months. Due to its properties, this filler alone makes it possible to achieve the face-lifting effect.
● Non-absorbable fillers are silicone-based medicinal products. They are typically administered once, and provide a life-lasting result. But such non-absorbable fillers have a number of complex contraindications, despite the fact that their effect is lifelong. Inflammation at the injection site is one of them. Such fillers are prohibited in many developed countries. Dr. Pavel Denishchuk does not recommend the use of such medicinal products.
Indications for use
Facial contouring with dermal fillers is recommended in the following cases:
● loss of facial volume, age-related “sad” facial expressions, sagging facial skin;
● fragile skin;
● deep wrinkles in the lower third of the face (nasolabial folds).
Contraindications
Hyaluronic acid and all types of fillers are not used:
● during pregnancy and lactation;
● against the background of benign or malignant neoplasms;
● in cases of intolerance to the individual components of the filler;
● on inflamed, sore, tanned skin;
● against the background of exacerbation of chronic diseases;
● in cases of blood coagulation disorders.
Possible complications
● Allergic reactions. During a specialised medical consultation, a doctor will make sure to ask the client about possible allergic reactions to medicinal products. In case a reaction develops, a doctor will prescribe antihistamines.
● Haematomae. The degree of branching of facial blood vessels is titanic. Therefore, there is a possibility of damages to the capillaries. The development of minor haematomae resolving in up to 7 days after the procedure is believed to be normal.
● Asymmetry. In the course of a preliminary consultation, a doctor should evaluate: whether a client has any congenital or acquired facial asymmetry in the area of the future administration of fillers.
Rehabilitation features
The client is released home immediately after the contouring procedure. Recommendations for home care are provided, its purpose being the rapid relief of puffiness ensuring patient’s comfort.
